I intend to buy a house. However, I should get an apartment, so they physically find your dream home, or should I better see where I am, and get, if I think I have one?

I would say the rent. If you can not find someone to do for another month, you would be best. do not want the first thing you will do, because after buying their "dream home" next week is better "dream home" for better treatment and wished he had waited a bit longer!

Twelve hours is a long way to watch. You might think about moving and renting while you are looking for. This way you get the first parts of themselves.
You can go online and start that way. Find a broker in the area that interests you and start there. Looking north from Alabama, South Alabama or in the middle?
